OLD BIO!

This is the page where all of the older versions of my biography will go. Because I think it's interesting to remember what I wrote/thought about myself in the past (this is obviously just for me, few others will find it as enthralling as I undoubtedly will). Unfortunately I never kept the original bio.

Um...me?

On the 23rd December 1982 a brown-eyed baby girl was born in Timboon, Victoria, Australia and was named Cara Westworth (yup, no middle name). Fast-forard some twenty-one years and you have the person who is writing this bio, who spent the first half of her life in Victoria, a southern state of Australia, the second half in Queensland, a northern state also in Australia, yet is right now typing this in Europe. From the beginning if you please...

Since I was 15 years old, shortly before my 16th birthday I heard this band, a German band called Die Ärzte. A friend had spent three months in Germany as an exhange student and discovered them as they were taking off in a big way, thanks to Männer sind Schweine. She made me listen to that song, as well as Meine Freunde and I asked her "Would you mind if I became a fan of this band?" and that I did. I waved goodbye to the Red Hot Chili Peppers who were my favourite band at the time, who I had liked since I was nine years old. I devoted myself to loving Die Ärzte and while most people thought I was crazy, my high school friends and I had a ball practicing the dance for Drei Tage Bart at lunchtimes. I also discovered my true personality through them. Soon I had black hair, lots of rings, my nose pierced and I was like a little, girly Australian Bela. It was great.

After high school I went straight to Griffith University to study Screen Production. Unfortunately I didn´t get into the course I wanted and was forced to do it´s baby brother, which was half as good and actually caused me to resent film making. Then I met a guy who came at a time when I had lost contact with many of my friends and was kind of lonely. He was not my type and completely wrong for me, but I fell for him anyway. It was fine though, until he realised how dedicated to Die Ärzte I actually was. He felt threatened and eventually got me to stop being so mad for them, and actually made me feel ashamed for being their fan. I instead developed an obsession for Harry Potter, which he was OK with, because Harry Potter isn´t real and I couldn´t run away with him like I could have with Die Ärzte. I don´t know why I did it, I still cannot comprehend it, but he managed to squish most of my love for Die Ärzte into a tiny ball which I almost completely ignored.

That is, until I met Amanda. I started the Brisbane Harry Potter Fan Club and we met through that, we were the co-founders and everything was fun and sunshiney (don´t get me wrong, I still love Harry Potter very much, but it was replacing the one thing I was most dedicated to). But then I told her about Die Ärzte, because she was a music-lover and it had been so long since I had been able to talk about them. I then lent her their "KILLER" DVD and she was instantly a fan, thanks to Wie es Geht, not to mention their crazy antics.

To cut (what is quickly becoming) a long story short, my love for the band started to re-emerge. Amanda was to blame, we both admit. But I had forgotten how important this band was to me. I had lost my identity by ignoring them, and it started coming back when we started enjoying the band again. It was then we decided we had to go to Germany and see them, our lives depended on it. This guy of mine, who I randomly was engaged to (I assume he hypnotised me or something) was not happy and it came to the point where it was either him or Die Ärzte, and I chose the latter. Yes I broke up with my fiance for this band. I also quit university after two and a half years to get a full-time job in order to get to Germany. But I swear to you, I am not crazy. I was unhappy with my university degree and my relationship, it wasn´t just random or without thought. It´s hard to explain, but if you were in my position I know you would have done the same.

Since then we have branded ourselves with their logos (here is an example of my back), formed a tribute band called The Frauenärztin (also featuring Liz, our other partner in crime). Som people call it obsessed, we just call it dedication. I mean, if you were a fan, you´d understand. There are other people out there who have done far crazier things, I plan to kick their arses and become the Unlimate Ärzte Fan of DOOM eventually.

This has been a strange bio, really only dealing with my life as far as Die Ärzte are concerned, but honestly, they have been what have shaped my life since I discovered them back in 1998. But here are some quick facts about me so this whole thing wasn´t entirely pointless:

Date of Birth: 23rd December, 1982
Hair Colour: Black with a fringe which used to be pink up until very recently(naturally medium brown)
Eye Colour: Dark brown
Hobbies: Being as lazy I am, my hobbies are few and far between. I used to do taekwon-do but tired of the school I was at and haven't been back for some time. I guess you ould say travelling is now a hobby of mine, hmm?
Musical Preferences: Die Ärzte (NEH), Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Fettes Brot, Beatsteaks, Rammstein, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Michael Jackson, Jebidiah, Frenzal Rhomb, Everclear, Bloodhound Gang, and Outkast.
Favourite Ärzte Songs: 'Die Banane', 'Schrei nach liebe', 'Piercing', 'Leichenhalle', 'Kpt. Blaubär', 'Dein Vampyr', 'N 48.3', 'Rod <3 You', 'Die Antwort bist du', 'Sex me, baby', 'Warrumska' and pretty much any song they've ever released...
Obsessions (past and present): Currently: Die Ärzte, Harry Potter, the Simpsons, Kill Bill and Wilbear Martin. Past (which I still love): The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Young Ones, Cabaret, Lord of the Rings, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bill and Ted, Buster Keaton, The Fatty Arbuckle scandal and possibly many more.
Favourite Films: Richy Guitar, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Lola Rennt, Kaliber Deluxe, Speed, Die Hard 1 & 3, True Lies, Kill Bill, The General, Men in Black and many more.
Aspirations: To be a world-famous film director and editor, with some acting on the side, as well as being a rockstar. I could live happily with just one of these, but all of them at once would be so cool.
Random facts: Since I was 15 I have had pink streaks in my hair on and off, the most recent stint lasted three years and was my favourite time but due to it taking too much time each week to maintain, I dyed it all black for Europe. I have a sister who is four years my junior, a mum and a dad and only one grandparent who is still alive today. I have two poodles called Pepe and Belle, but have had so many pets during my lifetime you probably wouldn´t beleive me. I am an animal fanatic, yet I am not a vegetarian as much as I wish I was. I have three tattoos - two on my back and the third on my right hip, and ten piercings which are all confined to my head.
