![]() ![]() My name is Cara Westworth and I was born on December 23rd 1982, in a small country hospital in Victoria, Australia. My mum decided against a middle name, apparently because she couldn't think of one, and because middle names are usually daggy anyway. "Cara" is Irish for "friend" and also Italian for "beloved". I'm actually part Irish, English, Scottish, Spanish and German. But I like to pretend I'm Italian too. I lived my first 10 years in Victoria, mostly in the country. Then the next 10 years were spent in Brisbane, Queensland. While I am definately a city girl, I still haven't lost that country girl streak, which made living in the outer suburbs of Brisbane much easier to deal with (snakes, spiders and other dangerous creatures abound). It's also made me very fond of animals: I can honestly say I like animals more than most people. My life revolves around two things: film and music. My dream is to one day become a film director/editor. I studied it in high school and university and love it to death. I also aspire to be a rockstar one day. However, unlike film, I have almost no talent when it comes to making music. I used to play bass guitar but since I suck (to put it mildly) I'm on an indefinate hiatus from that cursed instrument. My favourite genre of films are action, horror and musicals. My favourite style of music is rock - in all its forms. I am obsessed with a German band called Die Ärzte and Harry Potter. I left the shores of Australia June 2004 to finally see Die Ärzte live after loving them since 1998. It was wll worth it, I have seen them about 10 times (as well as a few concerts by Farin Urlaub, on his solo tour) and have met them. As for Harry Potter, I originally started the Brisbane Harry Potter fanclub and am currently a part of the London Harry Potter Meetup Group. I have a thing for tattoos. I currently have seven (which cane be seen here). I have many more planned, including my zombie-horror sleeve which I'll hopefully have finished by the end of the year. I currently have eleven piercings (seven in my ears, one nose ring, my naval and two lip studs). I have retired my two eyebrow rings. I have black hair, with pink undernearth and I tend to mostly wear black. I am NOT goth, though I do have a few "goth" features. I prefer to be thoight of as a "rocker" or "rockabilly", though most people wouldn't know the difference between goth and rocker if it punched them in the face. I have a fetish for Converse Chuck Taylors, I try and buy a new pair evey couple of months. I also have a thing for skulls, I wear skull designs on everything I can. This really doesn't help my "I'm not goth" campaign. I have a fairly odd family, one sister and two heterosexual parents. Mum and dad separated recently after my dad had a mid-life crisis and although they see each other almost everyday for work, dad has become kind of weird. Mum hasn't changed very much despite everything, except for the fact she's currently recovering from being hit by a speeding moped while we were in Paris. She likes to laugh about it. My sister and I don't. My sister, Erin is four years younger than me and while we can get along fabulously, we are so very different. For example this is a cartoon version of me and this is a cartoon version of Erin. See, very different. Though we do look very much alike, despite the hair and clothes. We are an odd bunch of people, my family. All emotionally retarded with love and such, while being over emotional when it comes to being angry and loud. But I love them, all the same. As for friends, I've done a wonderful job of losing most of them back in Brisbane. Long story, but I do still consider Amanda to be my best friend, despite what has happened. I have some good mates here in London and some in Germany, but apart from that I am a very lonely girl. I can't think of anything else to sum myself up for now. So here are a few quick facts about me: Date of Birth: 23rd December, 1982 Hair Colour: Black with a fringe which used to be pink up until I left Australia last year (naturally medium brown) Eye Colour: Dark brown Hobbies: Being as lazy I am, my hobbies are few and far between. I used to do taekwon-do but tired of the school I was at and haven't been back for some time. I guess you could say travelling is now a hobby of mine, hmm? Musical Preferences: Die Ärzte (NEH), Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Fettes Brot, Beatsteaks, Rammstein, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Papa Roach, Michael Jackson, Audioslave, Peaches, Frenzal Rhomb, Everclear, Bloodhound Gang, and Outkast. Favourite Ärzte Songs: 'Die Banane', 'Schrei nach liebe', 'Piercing', 'Leichenhalle', 'Kpt. Blaubär', 'Dein Vampyr', 'N 48.3', 'Rod <3 You', 'Die Antwort bist du', 'Sex me, baby', 'Warrumska' and pretty much any song they've ever released... Favourite non-Ärzte Songs: At the moment I'm obsessed with 'Like a stone' by Audioslave, 'I just wanna live' by Good Charlotte (how sad), 'Miss you' by the Rollings Stones, 'Feel Good Inc' by Gorillaz, 'Getting away with murder' by Papa Roach, 'Dermitder' by Farin Urlaub and 'Stuff me up' by Peaches. Obsessions (past and present): Currently: Die Ärzte, Harry Potter, the Simpsons, Kill Bill and Wilbear Martin. Past (which I still love): The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Young Ones, Cabaret, Lord of the Rings, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bill and Ted, Buster Keaton, The Fatty Arbuckle scandal and possibly many more. Favourite Films: Richy Guitar, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Lola Rennt, Kaliber Deluxe, Speed, Die Hard 1 & 3, True Lies, Kill Bill, The General, Men in Black, Terminator 2 and many more. Aspirations: To be a world-famous film director and editor, with some acting on the side, as well as being a rockstar. I could live happily with just one of these, but all of them at once would be so cool. Random facts: Since I was 15 I have had pink streaks in my hair on and off, the most recent stint lasted three years and was my favourite time but due to it taking too much time each week to maintain, I dyed it all black for Europe. I have a sister who is four years my junior, a mum and a dad and only one grandparent who is still alive today. I have two poodles called Pepe and Belle, but have had so many pets during my lifetime you probably wouldn't beleive me. I am an animal fanatic, yet I am not a vegetarian as much as I wish I was. My favourite colours are pink, green and black. My favourite city in the world is Hamburg, Germany. For more Up-to-date info on me consult my LiveJournal!
